World Cup Quiz

The FIFA World Cup 2010 will be a ball! Each year, the best football teams compete from every corner of the globe's biggest sporting event on earth. This year's tournament in South Africa will take, from 11 June - 11 July. Here are some fascinating facts are found on the tournament this year and the day before:

1. The official 2010 World Cup mascot Zakumi means.

Zakumi is a leopard with green humanizedHair. The name is an abbreviation of the International South Africa (ZA), and "kumi" mixture. In several African languages, the word "kumi" translating into English as the number ten. The mascot of the colors, yellow and green, are in the middle of the flag of South Africa. Zakumi birthday is on the South African Red Letter Day: Youth Day. Zakumi also means the date of birth (1994) South Africa's first nationwide elections were non-racist.

2. Only two WorldCups will have been outside America and Europe.

The exceptions were in 2002 (Korea / Japan), and in 2010 (South Africa).

3. Europe and South America have dominated the event.

In fact, European countries have won the tournament nine times, while South American countries also have won it nine times. Interestingly, European country has never been a World Cup champion in a play to outside Europe. So it's not surprising that the country championships won five World Cup record. But Italy is behind closed, with four championship. Germany (West) is next, with a total of three World Cup titles. Meanwhile, Uruguay and Argentina, both of a pair of championships. And finally, England and France have each won the tournamentonce.

4. The youngest and oldest players were 17 and 42 yeas old, respectively.

The youngest World Cup player was Norman Whiteside (Ireland), the old one was only 17 years/41 days when he last played in 1982 in. Meanwhile, Roger Milla (Cameroon) 42 years/39 days old when he took in 1994 submitted.

5. The top all-time World Cup top scorer was a Frenchman.

In 1958 Just Fontaine scored a whopping 13 points in France during the tournament, averaging just over two points per game. The second all-time scorer Sandor Kocsis was from Hungary. Hungry for goals, in 1954 he scored a total of 11 points during the tournament in five games. And the third all-time top scorer Gerd Muller, the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1970, he scored 10 points in six games.

6. Two players have reached finals in four consecutive World Cup.

Interestingly, both players scored during the same> World Cup. Pele (Brazil) and Uwe Seeler (West Germany) scored both in the finals of 1958, 1962, 1966 and 1970.
