Every four years a World Cup will come and take a football fan thought and time for weeks. Game after game, the best footballer in the world their skills in front of thousands at the stadium and millions watch the parade on TV again in their homes.

Players

Players usually make the World Cup, what it is. If there were not great players, we would certainly not be watching this tournament in large numbers,we do. In previous World Cup finals we have seen the emergence of a great talent, talents, we can not see normally.

History

Which players have to discover the world after displaying their skills in previous World Cups? It would be far too many variables to be able to list in detail and has always always been heated discussions about who the greatest player of all time, two players always on the head of thethe debate.

Let's look at these players credentials.

Diego Armando Maradona [Argentina]

[World championship titles: 1982, 1986 (winners), 1990 (2nd), 1994]

Maradona is a flawed genius, no one has ever raised his talents and be able to press the self-destruction with such great effect. Never before has a player been credited with winning the 1986 World Cup trophy with one hand as in Mexico. Even in the notorious 1986Quarter-final and scoring what is widely the best goal ever scored in the Finals considered. After picking the ball in his own half, he managed to dribble your way through a hi quality England side before slotting the ball past Peter Shilton, the England goalkeeper on the day.

The Argentine team, with whom he played in this tournament were all excellent players but maybe not good enough to lift the trophy. But with Maradona at the height of his power could onlybe a team that could possibly win.

Maradona also helped his nation to the final of the 1990 World Cup Italy and only lost in the German Andy Brehme penalty by.

However, it was after failing a doping test in 1991, his career on the way back, and then his last appearance came on the biggest stage of football.

In 1994, the World Cup in the United States when he scored in the first game of the Argentines against Greece anyone who watched hisCelebration knew it was not just that the little magician adreneline powered. Eyes glaring into the camera, knew the hearts of Argentines that drugs were fueling their talismanic captain. A drug test followed and the inevitable positive result Maradona's tournament and effectively ended his career.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento - Pele

[World championship titles: 1958 (winners), 1962 (winners), 1966, 1970 (winner)]

The only similarity betweenPele and Maradona is that they come from the same continent. Pele was the original World superstar, enjoying a career, the professional model A can be regarded as a being.

Pele's credentials are there for all to see, he set up goals, he was an instrumental leader on and off the field, and he also scored goals. In fact, the amount of goals he scored an important power for themselves.

His record is phenomenal, scoring five goals in a game six times, four goals and 30 timesthree goals 90 times. These figures are the modern player can never dream of matching. In his illustrious career as a player, he scored an amazing total of 1283 to achieve. In his international career he scored an astonishing 77 goals in 92 appearances. However, there was a lot more to offer than "just" goals Pele.

He will also be recalled repeatedly as the only player in history to win the World Cup on three occasions, a feat that is unlikely ever to. Only an injury in 1966 inEngland may have kept him from winning the World Cup on four consecutive occasions, so that a fine England side to become world champion for the first time.

He was captain of the greatest team of all time, the 1970 Brazil side that won the tournament so convincingly in Mexico. Who has the last game of the tournament, which Brazil defeated Italy observed by four goals to one, is on the skill and vision of the original sum astonished FootballPage.

Since Pele hung his playing boots for over 20 years and is still dominated by football fans, the evidence never seen him in his prime by the great man's passion and skill for the biggest game of all worships.

Other major players

Many others have graced the biggest Cup tournament in the world is that, but the above two players are two previously announced as the largest. But who would complete the top ten?

Gordon Banks, Eusebio,Puskas, Zinedine Zidane, Michel Platini, Franz Beckenbauer, Garrincha and the Johann Cruyff to name but a few. In fact, many modern critics like Cruyff as the greatest modern player, a player who helped the game in the way of playing shape you see today.

Then there are players who do not manage to show their talents to Ireland at the World Cup, which is worth the end, great George Best in the North. The other major absentee voting is Alfredo DiStefano. There are actually many Latin Americans would hail the 'Blonde Arrow' Di Stefano as the greatest player who has seen the world, ever.

play In the still, Czech Republic playmaker Pavel Nedved, Juventus, Manchester United Dutch predator Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ukrainian goal-machine Andrey Shevchenko, AC Milan, would top the list. But all three will appear in Germany in 2006, except for injuries late, and will probably write some new headlines.

Welooking forward to this year's event with great enthusiasm and hopefully it will be remembered as one of the biggest tournaments of all time in memory. Let us all hope!
